Eion & Claire Simmons

Ngaire (2007) Josiah (2009) Hayley (2011) Caleb (2014) Aurora (2016)

Serving with BCA since January 2026

Eion & Claire Simmons, along with their children Ngaire, Josiah, Hayley, Caleb and Aurora, have lived in Port Hedland in the Diocese of North West Australia since 2021, where Eion serves as the Minister in Charge. Both Eion & Claire grew up in Western Australia and have served in ministry at the Geraldton Cathedral, in Broome and with the Seafarer’s Centre. They are no strangers to the bush, having lived in regional Western Australia for 13 years. In a town that experiences a high population turnover due to the seaport and industry, having a long-term minister in the church is both a necessity and a blessing.

About Port Hedland
Kariyarra, Ngarla and Nyamal Country
Port Hedland is the second largest settlement in the Pilbara, situated 1800 kilometres north of Perth. Made up from a diverse cultural background, most residents in Port or South Hedland are employed directly or indirectly in Australia's largest bulk export port, where over 600 million tonnes of Pilbara minerals transit annually, bound for overseas markets.

Pray for the Simmons
March 2026
  • Thank God for our 2025 Parish Council. Pray for God to provide us with a new council, including new members to take over from those who have recently left town.

    April 2026
  • Pray that plans to renovate the kitchen and bathroom of the South Hedland Church this year will come to fruition.
  • Ask God to grow our church family in maturity and number.

    May 2026
  • Pray for the evangelistic course we’re running in May/June; for church family members to boldly invite unbelievers, for them to come, and that as the Gospel is proclaimed, the Spirit will bring people to repentance and faith in Jesus.
