Malcolm Reid

Serving with BCA since January 2026

As Startwell Coordinator Malcolm will coordinate and establish a new BCA initiative known as StartWell.

Malcom and his wife Leanne served with BCA as Field Staff from 1998–-2001 in Port Hedland and Newman. They most recently spent 10 years with CMS in Vietnam. Malcolm brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and skills to the role.

About the StartWell Program

Our Field Staff, who go the distance to serve in rural, regional, and remote Australia, face various challenges – challenges that are often unique to rural ministry. This is especially true in the first few years of service in the bush, as Field Staff often make huge adjustments from city living to rural life; from a multi-staffed church to sometimes a one-person ministry team. It has been our desire to build a program that addresses these challenges, drawing on BCA’s long history and experience, tailoring it to different contexts, and providing a comprehensive program that supports our Field Staff to start well in their ministry, family life, and personal wellbeing.

Pray for new Field Staff and their families as they adjust to new locations, roles or relationships with BCA. This can be a stressful time for them.

As we continue to build this program and develop support for new Field Staff please ask for guidance about the resources to be used (people & programs) to deliver it well.
