Samuel & Grace Ogg, along with their children moved to Lightning Ridge in early 2026. Samuel was a BCA Theological Bursary Recipient. For 2026 and 2027 Samuel will serve as a BCA-supported minister-in-training at Lightning Ridge Community Church.

Lightning Ridge is an iconic mining town in north-western New South Wales, famous for its rare black opal. 'The Ridge' is situated near the southern border of Queensland, about 740 kilometres south-west of Brisbane. Population estimates range from 1,500 to 7,000 people, depending on the time of the year and who is counting — the population sign shows a question mark! The Ridge is an eclectic town with a diverse mix of cultures. Opal mining and tourism are the main industries that support the economy.

Pray that the youth in our town whom we have connected with through SRE and other events will continue taking steps towards Jesus. Pray also for wisdom for our church as we try to cater for youth.
