David & Lauren Horne moved to Tasmania in late 2020 and lead the faithful at South East Anglican – Southern Beaches. By God’s grace, the church is seeing growth in numbers as more people come or return to church. The Hornes want people who have decided to live for Christ to grow, mature and lead for Him.

The Southern Beaches area is a collection of small, regional beachside communities east of Hobart. The mix of rural and coastal living has attracted many young families and retirees to the area, which is now home to around 8000 people. The Anglican church is the only church within this growing community. The Parish of South East Anglican takes in the areas of Sorell, the Coal River Valley, Tasman Peninsula, and the Southern Beaches.

September is the last month of our quiet season, before different events and tourists start filling up our calendars. Pray particularly for our church volunteers who serve tirelessly to help Jesus be known and loved by people in our community.

A few Diocesan events are on this month, as well as Lauren’s birthday, and some other family activities. Pray that we would be sustained and built up during this enjoyable time of year.

The beaches are beginning to fill up with locals coming out of hibernation. Pray for a great ending to our Alpha Course, and that many would consider the invitation to be baptised at the end of the month!
