David & Lauren Horne moved to Tasmania in late 2020 and lead the faithful at South East Anglican – Southern Beaches. By God’s grace, the church is seeing growth in numbers as more people come or return to church. The Hornes want people who have decided to live for Christ to grow, mature and lead for Him.

The Southern Beaches area is a collection of small, regional beachside communities east of Hobart. The mix of rural and coastal living has attracted many young families and retirees to the area, which is now home to around 8000 people. The Anglican church is the only church within this growing community. The Parish of South East Anglican takes in the areas of Sorell, the Coal River Valley, Tasman Peninsula, and the Southern Beaches.

We are finishing our season of evangelism, grateful to God for what He has done in us and through us. Please pray that gospel seeds that were scattered would take root, be protected, and become established.

The Horne's Prayer Points for July 2025

Winter is well and truly here! The beaches are still beautiful, but very quiet. We now get to enjoy the benefits of a quiet season. Pray for good health, rest, and rejuvenation for our family and the church leaders.

We hope to start our annual Alpha course towards the end of this month. Pray that people would be courageous to sign-up, and that they are met with the life-transforming knowledge of God and His love for them.
