David & Lauren Horne moved to Tasmania in late 2020 and lead the faithful at South East Anglican – Southern Beaches. By God’s grace, the church is seeing growth in numbers as more people come or return to church. The Hornes want people who have decided to live for Christ to grow, mature and lead for Him.

The Southern Beaches area is a collection of small, regional beachside communities east of Hobart. The mix of rural and coastal living has attracted many young families and retirees to the area, which is now home to around 8000 people. The Anglican church is the only church within this growing community. The Parish of South East Anglican takes in the areas of Sorell, the Coal River Valley, Tasman Peninsula, and the Southern Beaches.

Once again we’re planning to hold a community carols service, after the great success in 2024. Please pray for a great event that not only builds goodwill amongst the community, but sees people hear the Good News.

This is our favourite month of the year – uni holidays, school holidays, good weather and visitors. Please pray for rest and joy for us, and for new people to find their way to our church.

Elka is beginning at a new school this month, Lauren is entering the last year of her undergraduate degree, Lenny is at school full-time, and church ministries are in full swing. Please pray for a great start to the year for all of us!
