Jude & Andy Benton

Serving with BCA since April 2020

Jude & Andy Benton minister in the Cooperating Parish of Croajingolong in the Diocese of Gippsland. The parish includes St Peter’s Mallacoota and St John’s Cann River. The Parish was hit hard by the devastating Black Summer Bushfires, followed by COVID restrictions. Through those difficulties, many new opportunities for ministry have emerged, including a weekly Christian radio broadcast, and involvement in recovery and community projects.

BCA’s link with Croajingolong dates back to 1921, when our founder SJ Kirkby first travelled there by foot. In 1922, Cann River became just the third location that BCA supported in both church ministry and through nurses who served the surrounding area. St John’s Cann River was built in 1928 from funds donated by BCA Deaconess Edith Reece.

Please pray for community & church Christmas celebrations as well as for SUFM & Theos teams as they prepare, travel to Mallacoota and present summer programs. May seeds be planted in local families as well as holiday makers.

As the summer busy period continues, we give thanks for the ministry of our Opshop. Pray that God blesses our volunteers with energy, safety and good conversations. We give thanks for our annual visitors who help out during this season.

We pray for new energy, insight and initiative as we continue to minister in this region. May this be a year of growth and harvest from the ministries of the past and may we as a congregation disciple new believers well for the future.
