Serving with BCA since January 2020
The Langmead family moved to Lightning Ridge in early 2020. Kurt & Bec have always loved sharing their lives and the gospel with people in places that others might miss. They count it a privilege to serve as a family in Lightning Ridge. Together with their local church and wider network of supporters, they prayerfully seek to be “Building Christ’s Church – in the Ridge, on the Rock” – that is, the solid rock of Christ and his word.
Lightning Ridge is an iconic mining town in north-western New South Wales, famous for its rare black opal. 'The Ridge' is situated near the southern border of Queensland, about 740 kilometres south-west of Brisbane. Population estimates range from 1,500 to 7,000 people, depending on the time of the year and who is counting — the population sign shows a question mark! The Ridge is an eclectic town with a diverse mix of cultures. Opal mining and tourism are the main industries that support the economy.
The Langmead's Prayer Points for January 2025
Pray that January can be a time of topping up the tanks, with fun in the sun at CMS Summer School; on the coast; or in the local pool!
The Langmead's Prayer Points for February 2025
Give thanks for our various ministries in the local schools (including SRE/Scripture and SUPA club); pray that this New Year would see local children and whole families come to love Jesus and join their local church.
