George & Carmel Ferguson

Serving with BCA since February 2018

After spending two years as an Aboriginal Ministry Trainee in South Tamworth, George Ferguson moved to the Barwon District Anglican Parish (Walgett/Collarenebri) in January 2020 to serve as Vicar. George & Carmel thank God for the opportunity to spread the good news of the gospel to people in the district.


About the Barwon Special District

The Barwon Special District Anglican Parish encompasses the towns of Walgett and Collarenebri. Walgett is a town in northern New South Wales, 691 kms northwest of Sydney. In 2016, the town of Walgett had a population of 2145.Collarenebri is a small town situated on the Barwon River, approximately 75 kilometres northeast of Walgett. In the 2016 census, Collarenebri had a population of 650.

  • Give thanks to God for the Moore College Mission week. Please pray for the upcoming Easter services in Walgett and Collarenebri and for the River Convention as it goes around different towns in our region.

  • Please pray for our Indigenous Committee as we prepare for our annual Indigenous Ministry Yarn Up Day held in May. This year it will be held at Narrabri Anglican Church.

  • Please pray for the annual outreach in Collarenebri on the King’s birthday in June.
  • Also pray for our Clergy Conference from 9–12 June.
