Bush Church Aid offers a number of opportunities for you to serve in rural, regional and remote Australia. Is God calling you to serve Him in the bush? Find out more…

Field Staff

In partnership with Anglican Dioceses and other ministries across the country, Bush Church Aid places committed and gifted Christians in a variety of locations so Australians can hear the life-changing message of Christ.
Our Field Staff serve in churches and in partnership with other church mission organisations in rural, regional and remote locations right across Australia. Field Staff in each region are pastorally and spiritually cared for by a BCA Regional Officer.
Our BCA regions are: NSW/ACT, QLD/NNSW, VIC, SA/NT, TAS and WA.
We currently have 40+ Field Staff going the distance to bring the good news of Christ to the bush.

Why Serve

Why should you serve with BCA? Because of our mission.
Our mission is to send people out to make disciples of Jesus. Our Field Staff have been taking the gospel of Jesus to rural, regional and remote Australia since 1919. With over a century of experience serving in the bush, BCA has seen amazing blessings flow. But the need is even greater today than it was over 100 years ago.
BCA’s approach to ministry is culturally sensitive, creative and flexible. Our Field Staff include a number of parish ministers, Indigenous workers, church planters, evangelists, children’s and youth ministers and chaplains.
BCA is unique in its ability to offer ministry opportunities in Australia’s often overlooked rural, regional and remote communities both in terms of our geographic reach and, by God’s grace, the resources we are able to employ.
“Why serve with BCA? For three reasons. First, BCA are gospel hearted. Their whole heart is about making Jesus known throughout rural and remote Australia. Secondly, BCA has immense collective wisdom of over 100 years of doing ministry which is a great resource to draw upon. Thirdly, BCA are caring and supportive. They take pastoral care of their Field Staff seriously and seek to provide everything that is needed to see the gospel advance. Not least of all in providing enormous prayer support through its membership base of some tens of thousands spread throughout the continent.”

BCA Nomads

The Bush Church Aid Nomads scheme connects Christian travellers with Field Staff and the churches they serve, so they can take part in ministry on their travels. Nomads support the work of the gospel and experience what life is like in remote areas. BCA’s Field Staff and their church communities are very encouraged by the presence of Nomads and their willingness to lend a hand.
