Port Hedland

Diocese of North West Australia

Port Hedland is the second largest town in the Pilbara in the Diocese of North West Australia. It is located on the remote West Australian coast and is about 1646 kilometres from Perth. It has a population of around 12,000, is home to the highest tonnage port in Australia - the largest exporter of iron ore in the world. Many people move to Port Hedland for a few years, chasing high wages and financial security, before moving back to ‘civilisation’. These wages foster a culture that focuses on work and money.

April-May Prayer Points for Port Hedland
Give thanks for the work of the Knights and pray they will settle in well in their new home in Melbourne. Pray for God to draw people to Himself and convict them of their sin and need for Jesus.
