Kurt & Bec Langmead together with June, Arthur, Lydia and Jeremiah welcomed Timothy Peter Langmead to the world on Saturday 21 August 2021 at Dubbo Base Hospital. Timothy weighed in at 4.73 kilograms or 10 pounds and 7 ounces!
Jacob & Sarah Kelly welcomed their first child Theodore James on Sunday 10 October 2021. Theodore weighed 3.1 kilograms or six pounds and 13 ounces.
Former BCA Field Staff Alan McMahon (Quorn 1963–1967) and John Wyndham (Ceduna/Minnipa/Tarcoola/Norseman, 1963–1967) celebrate the 60th anniversary of their ordination as priests on 17 December 2021.
Laurie & Rebecca Carleton, together with their children Olivia, Claudia and Harry, will commence ministry at the Church of England on Norfolk Island next year. Laurie is currently completing his final year of a Bachelor of Divinity at Moore College and working as a student minister at St Paul's Anglican Church, Canterbury and Hurlstone Park. Bishop Malcolm Richards will induct Laurie as Minister (Chaplain) on Norfolk Island on Sunday 30 January 2022 and Greg Harris will commission both Laurie & Rebecca as BCA Field Staff at the same service.
The BCA National Council welcomed some new members in 2021 including ex Field Staff Jodi Chapman, Gemma Kleywegt, Shemira Jeevaratnam & Michael Stuart.
ON THE MOVE
The Queensland/NNSW Office has recently moved into a new office. They are now sharing a space at Sunnybank Anglican Church to the south of the Brisbane CBD.
At the end of November, Steven & Caitlin Klouth are moving to Bathurst to continue their training at All Saints Anglican Cathedral. The Klouths will primarily work to grow the new contemporary service at the Cathedral.
In early 2022 Jacob, Sarah & Theodore Kelly will move to serve in the parishes of Kyabram and Tongala/Stanhope in the Diocese of Bendigo. Jacob will work alongside The Revd Peter Downes to provide leadership, care and nurture in the parishes. This move is part of the natural development of Jacob as a student minister.
After nine years on Kangaroo Island, Brad, Joh, Jemima, Gabriella & Evangeline Henley have concluded their service with BCA. Brad is now the Associate Minister at the Anglican Church of Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. In his new role Brad has a particular focus on the congregation of Peregian which seeks to engage with young families who have settled in the surrounding newly established suburbs.
NSW/ACT Regional Officer Ted Brush will leave BCA in early 2022 to take up a part-time role in the Centre for Ministry Development at Moore Theological College. Please pray for Ted & Michelle as they look towards next year, and for the Field Staff in the NSW/ACT region who Ted has supported during his time in the role.
WA Regional Officer Rob Healy will conclude his service with BCA at the end of January 2022. Rob has served 17 of the last 21 years with BCA in Western Australia – as assistant minister in Karratha/Dampier, on the BCA WA Regional Committee and National Executive, and then as the state's regional officer. Please pray for Rob and Kaye as they start a new chapter in their ministry.
