WELCOME

Simon & Alison Roberts have taken up the vacant ministry position in Exmouth, Western Australia. Simon who was previously the senior minister at St Mark’s Malabar in Sydney, is committed to making disciples who make disciples. The Roberts travelled to Exmouth in late March before strict border restrictions came into place.

BCA is now supporting the ministry of Jude & Andy Benton in the Cooperating Parish of Croajingolong, in the Diocese of Gippsland, Victoria. The parish includes St Peter's Mallacoota and St John's Cann River. Jude, who has been operating in a part-time capacity until recently, has now taken on the role of Priest-in-Charge on a full-time basis.

Rob & Michelle Edwards will commence in the vacant Field Staff position in Strathfieldsaye in late May. Previously Rob was the Children's & Youth Minister in the Parish of South East Bendigo. The Edwards have three boys – Nathan, Josh and Pete.


FAREWELL

After 14 years serving the Lord in Port Hedland, Philip, Elke, Annabella & Lilly Knight, have moved to Melbourne. Philip is now the Vicar at St Mark's Anglican Church, Forest Hill.

The Revd Steve Davis BCA’s South Australian/Northern Territory Regional Officer retired from his role at the end of May. Steve and his wife Lyn have travelled across the state and territory to encourage BCA supporters and Field Staff as well as seek new support for the Society. Although Steve is retiring he still plans to serve Christ and His church in another capacity.

 

CONGRATULATIONS

George Ferguson and Jamie Bester were both ordained in February. George was ordained on Saturday 22 February in the Diocese of Armidale. Jamie was ordained in the Diocese of Tasmania on Saturday 29 February 2020.

Trent & Alice McGrath (Jindabyne), Kurt & Bec Langmead (Lightning Ridge), James & Brittany Daymond (Mudgee) and George & Carmel Ferguson (Barwon District Anglican Parish) were all commissioned for service in their respective parishes during February.

 

VALE

The Revd John Symons (23 December 1942 – 21 March 2020) and his wife Dianne served with BCA in North West Australia in the late 1980s and 90s. They were in Derby from 1987–1991 and then Kununurra /Wyndham from 1992–1997. Before his passing John and Dianne celebrated 54 years of marriage. John is survived by Dianne, their sons Martin, Paul, Craig, Christopher, Aaron and their families.
