As part of their Meet Jesus Mission across the country, a team from Moore College travelled to Kununurra in early April supported by BCA.
The students from Moore helped lead church services, conducted kids clubs, ran a youth event, met with Indigenous Elders and also hosted events for men and women.
They were told by BCA Field Staff Daniel Faricy that “Kununurra ministry is TRIM ministry: Transient. Remote. Indigenous. Missional.”
Team Kununurra spent time with Daniel and Henry (assistant minister), heard how they came to serve, and how BCA support is essential for their ministry. The team began considering the particular challenges of serving a transient community in a remote location.
National Director Greg Harris visited Kununurra during mission week and shared about the opportunities to serve in rural, regional and remote locations within Australia. There was much to learn and much to think through for the students, but Greg’s love and devotion for these towns was so strongly evident to the team.
“It was a great team who appreciated the chance to see a remote location and the good gospel ministry going on there,” says Greg Harris. “I was keen for the team to understand the needs and opportunities in the bush and then be supportive of it – as individuals and as churches. For a start, we hope they become BCA champions in their home churches.”
