Schools Ministry Coordinator - Darwin  

Scripture Union NT is seeking to appoint a Schools Ministry Coordinator. This position is currently funded by a partnership between Bush Church Aid and SUNT.

The Schools Ministry Coordinator will be a committed Christian who also participates actively in their local church.

His or her aim will be to build on the organisation’s existing strong School Ministry foundation and be a motivational leader. The main part of the role will be to continue the coordination of the existing Religious Education in the schools across Darwin and surrounding areas, and the support and resourcing of ISCF and SUPA groups in schools.

The Schools Ministry Coordinator will work collaboratively with Schools (both Govt and private schools), Northern Territory churches, para church organisations and supportive volunteers to facilitate the delivery of SUNT’s school’s ministry. A strong element of this work includes training, coaching and mentoring of staff and volunteers within the school context.

The School Ministry Coordinator’s role is a full-time job and is a challenging and exciting opportunity to grow the SUNT school ministry and to lead and manage its daily activities in ministry to children, young people and families within NT schools.

The role is based in Darwin, but may at times, require some travel to other parts of the NT.

Over time, the applicant will be required to assist in the raising of funds towards the role.

Position to commence in early 2021.

  • Have experience in working with children and families and a strong understanding of the school context
  • Have excellent people and networking skills
  • Be well organised, outcome oriented, able to work well in a team and autonomously
  • Have leadership experience, including experience in training others
  • Have a mature personal faith and values consistent with SU’s and BCA’s ethos and theology
  • Have current eligibility to work in Australia

Coober Pedy, South Australia

The Anglican Diocese of Willochra and Bush Church Aid are seeking an ordained Anglican minister for an exciting pastoral position. It is fully stipended and includes accommodation.

Coober Pedy is an iconic outback community of over 1500 people located 850km north of Adelaide on the Stuart Highway. It is a major tourism and service centre, best known for underground opal mining.

The ministry encompasses the underground Catacomb Church as well as mining chaplaincy at the nearby Prominent Hill site. The congregation has a long-standing commitment to solid teaching. There are many opportunities to reach out to the community and to tourists who visit the underground church

Cloncurry, North West Queensland   

The Anglican Diocese of North Queensland and Bush Church Aid seek a suitable ordained Anglican Priest for this fully stipended position.

North Queensland is an extraordinarily beautiful and diverse Diocese which extends from Sarina (south of Mackay) all the way to the Torres Strait Islands and the PNG border. Most of the population live on the Pacific Coast, but the Diocese also goes inland all the way to the Northern Territory border. Cloncurry has a population of around 2900 and is located about 780 kilometres south-west of Townsville. It is a regional service centre and local industries include cattle-grazing and mining, as the area is home to some of Australia’s largest copper deposits.

To be appointed you must be an Anglican Priest in good standing and hold or be eligible to hold a Queensland “Blue Card”. The Diocese ordains women clergy.
