BCA National Director elected Bishop of Canberra & Goulburn

Fred Chilton, Chairman
The Revd Dr Mark Short

On behalf of The Bush Church Aid Society of Australia I would like to congratulate our National Director The Revd Dr Mark Short on his recent election as the 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn.

Mark has been the National Director of Bush Church Aid since September 2011. In that time the Society has embarked on many new initiatives and Mark has led a team of Godly men and women in reaching Australia for Christ. Mark’s commitment to remote, regional and rural Australia has seen new ministries across the nation.

2019 is a significant year in the life of The Bush Church Aid Society of Australia. On 26 May 2019 we will celebrate 100 years of spreading the good news of Jesus to people in the bush. We are committed to working with our Field Staff and supporters to plan a great year of thanksgiving to God. Mark will continue as BCA’s National Director into our Centenary Year, concluding his service at the end of March 2019.

The BCA Executive has identified an interim National Director to act in the position after Mark’s departure. We will soon commence the process of searching for a full time National Director to lead BCA into its next 100 years.

On behalf of the BCA Executive I would like to thank supporters for their prayers and encourage them to help us celebrate 100 years of reaching Australia for Christ. We wish Mark and his wife Monica well as they conclude their time with BCA and commence their service in the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn.

“Monica and I want to thank our BCA friends for their fellowship and encouragement over the past seven years. We are committed to serving in God’s strength until our formal time with BCA ends. Rest assured we will continue to pray for God’s vital work through BCA in the years to come,” said Mark Short.
