ANNOUNCEMENT: Farewell to long-term Field Staff

It’s with a heavy heart that I write to let you know that David & Lauren Horne and James & Brittany Daymond are set to conclude their service with Bush Church Aid.

David Horne has accepted Bishop Richard Condie’s appointment to be the next Priest-in-Charge of the Parish of Devonport.

The Horne family have served in the Southern Beaches of Tasmania with BCA for six and half years. They have firmly established themselves in this growing community, made life-long friends, and seen many people come to faith and be baptised.

“We trust God is moving us because He has good work for us to do,” says David. “We've so enjoyed being a part of this beautiful Southern Beaches community, and the Bush Church Aid Society, but we're looking forward to what God has in store for our family in Devonport.”

The Horne’s last Sunday in the Southern Beaches is 4 October, before beginning their new role in mid-November.

After 10 years serving across the Central West with BCA, James & Brittany Daymond will conclude their time in Cobar in early 2027. The Daymonds believe that the time has come for them to pursue a new ministry opportunity, which is yet to be determined.

James & Brittany served as evangelists in Narromine and Mudgee, before James was ordained and commenced as Priest-in-Charge of St Paul’s Cobar in 2023. Evangelism visiting continued to be a big part of their ministry in Cobar.

“It has been a great joy to serve alongside the people of Cobar and also a privilege to work alongside the Cobar churches to seize as many opportunities as we could to bless the community,” says James. “The faithful support of the Bush Church Aid Society has been amazing at Cobar and our two previous parishes over a period of 10-years in the Central-West of NSW.”
