ANNOUNCEMENT: A time of transition for members
of the BCA Community

Greg Harris – National Director

Today I have four announcements to share with you; two which are cause for celebration and two in which we bid farewell to faithful servants.

Lonny BendessiFirstly, I’m delighted to announce that former Indigenous Theological Bursary Student, Lonny Bendessi is now serving as Field Staff with the Aboriginal Berean Community Church. Here he will receive practical ministry training amongst First Nations People. Lonny will combine his work with completing his associate degree at the Bible College of South Australia.

“First and foremost I would like to give thanks & praise to God for His calling on my life,” says Lonny. “I would ask BCA supporters to please pray for my studies; that God will give me wisdom & understanding and uphold me as I seek to do His will.”

Rod & Amanda Haywood
Secondly, a big welcome to Rod & Amanda Haywood who have taken on the role of BCA Nomads Coordinators. Rod has served on the BCA NSW/ACT Regional Committee for the past two years and they’ve been Nomads for many years.

“Since becoming BCA Nomads we have seen God use our existing skills and equip us in new, surprising ways,” said Rod & Amanda. “As we start as Nomads Coordinators please pray that we will seek God's leading and encourage others.”

Greg & Jocelyn Lay
In welcoming the Haywoods, we farewell Greg & Jocelyn Lay who took over the role of Nomads Coordinators from Doug & Frances Orr in late 2020. We thank the Lays for their many years of service. Today we have nearly 200 active Nomads travelling across rural, regional and remote Australia to provide care and support to our Field Staff and assist at events such as the annual Katherine Christian Convention as well as the Aboriginal Evangelical Family Camp.

David Pohlmann & Margaret ScottWe also farewell David Pohlmann & Margaret Scott. David, who has served as the Anglican Dean at Nungalinya College since the start of this year has moved to a casual teaching role within the faculty. We are grateful to David for his work and ministry at Nungalinya and in the Anglican Diocese of the Northern Territory over the last six months, in what is a hugely demanding role.

Please join me in praying for Lonny and Rod & Amanda as they commencing serving with BCA, may they know God’s guiding and leading of their work and their lives. Please pray also for Greg & Jocelyn and David & Margaret, may God continue to use them to bring glory to His name.
