You may very well ask yourself who makes a trip to Port Augusta in early January? Yes, technically you could argue it is next to seawater, but there are a number of other more popular holiday destinations.

But the point of visiting Port Augusta wasn’t for a holiday but to celebrate with our Indigenous brothers and sisters.

Fifty years ago the Aboriginal Evangelical Fellowship (AEF) was formed and annually (now bi-annually) they hold a conference in Port Augusta. From all over Australia Indigenous brothers and sisters met for teaching and fellowship.

It was a joy and privilege for Karen and I to meet a number of Indigenous leaders. It was also a chance to meet various BCA Field Staff who were also present including the Nadens (Senior & Junior), Davis’, Harradines and McDonalds.
