A new opportunity for the Lierschs'

Greg Harris - National Director

In sad news for the BCA family and the Parishes of LongreachBarcaldine & Winton, Graeme & Susan Liersch have accepted a role in the Diocese of Gippsland. While sad for us, this is great news for the Parish of Wonthaggi and Inverloch where Graeme will serve as Rector. They will also be closer to their two daughters in Victoria, and son & daughter-in-law in Wagga Wagga

Graeme and Susan have served as Mission Facilitatorand Trainerfor Central West QLD, and overseeministry in Longreach & Barcaldine for just shy of five years and Winton for two years

“We have loved living in the outback,” says Graeme. “We have loved the job even with its long travel, but I’ve come to realise as I’ve got older that it is harder to bounce back after full days moving between parishes.

“We leave the Central West and the BCA family reluctantly. The prayer support has been amazing, our supporter churches have been a real blessing to us, as have the BCA Nomads. But we look forward to what God has in store for us in Wonthaggi/Inverloch

Graeme & Susan will finish in the Central West of QLD just after Christmas Day and commence in Wonthaggi/Inverloch in late January. They leave the Longreach parish in the capable hands of Julianne Fawkner who is being licenced as a lay preacher, Barcaldine in the capable hands of Trish Miller & Kevin Kerr (Lay Ministers) and Winton in the hands of Linda Sorenson (Lay Minister).

We pray that God will continue to bless Graeme & Susan in their ministry.
