A change on King Island

Greg Harris - National Director

After four years on King Island, and a total of eight years serving with BCA, Chris & Wendy Thiele have announced their retirement. The Thieles’ will take some annual leave and long service leave from the beginning of June to the end of October, before conducting their last service on the Island on Sunday 6 November.

Chris & Wendy have seen great fruit from their time on King Island including a growing congregation, a thriving youth group and the chance to run Alpha courses for youth and adults.

“King Island is a totally different ministry to anywhere I’ve ever been,” says Chris. “To be seen and involved has been a really important part of the work.”

Through church, and their extensive community involvement, the Thieles’ have built up solid relationships on the Island so please pray for them as they say goodbye to the many friends they’ve made. Please also pray for the faithful on King Island as they grieve the loss of Chris & Wendy.

I would also appreciate your prayers as we begin our search for new Field Staff to serve on the Island.

On behalf of BCA, I wish to thank Chris & Wendy for their wonderful service in going the distance to reach King Island and Tasmania for Christ.
