King Island Parish |
| Barbara and Peter have been on Kangaroo Island just over two years, and are very much at home among
the Island’s current 1651 residents. Situated in the Bass Strait north-west of Tasmania, the Island is rugged, windy, and
continues to carry the traits of the self-reliant shipwreck victims, sealers, whalers, lighthouse keepers and small-hold
farmers who were the early settlers. The current church was consecrated in 2002, having been built subsequent to the 1997 fire. They are, at the moment, adjusting to the loss of worshipping families and retirees who moved from the Island during 2007, a matter of ongoing concern and prayer. Church Services are: Holy Communion (First Order APBA) at 8.30 a.m. on the first Sunday and Family Communion at 10.00 a.m. each Sunday.
