there will take in Mallacoota, Cann River, Club Terrace, Combienbar, Genoa and other more remote areas. The Society’s presence in the parish goes back to 1922, with nursing staff, deaconesses and clergy supported until the 1960’s. In 1921 the first Organising Missioner, Bp. Sydney James Kirkby wrote “only eight families reside at this lonely spot, which, like many other settlements in the big East Gippsland scrub, know nothing of shops and gets mail just once a week”. Now, a tourist centre, with a large abalone fishing industry, Mallacoota boasts a population of some 1,200 people increasing to some 10,000 with the holiday makers at Easter and Christmas. Farming and timber make up the industries of the other centres. Graham and June moved from Nottinghamshire UK in 2006. They have two adult children in the UK, Stephen and Timothy. The Croajingolong Parish includes centres at Mallacoota, Cann River and Genoa, covering the far east of Gippsland to the NSW border. It is a co-operating parish. The main industries are tourism, timber, farming & abalone fishing. Contact details : Revd Graham and Mrs June Knott Phone/Fax: 03 5158 0394
