Alfrene is employed as Gulargambone Central School’s chaplain. Alfrene has had many varied roles with different churches throughout the years. Having been a Christian since her early teenage years, Alfrene has a wealth of experience which she will bring to this role.

Gulargambone is a small town of 500 people located 50 kilometres from Gilgandra. The town is home to many farming families and has a large local Indigenous population. The town has one K-12 school which means many young adults leave town to go to university. Some return after their studies while others move elsewhere.
