Norfolk Island

GO TO PRAYER NOTES

Norfolk Island is an external territory of Australia, sitting 1600 km northeast of Sydney, measuring just 8 km by 5 km. There are two historic church buildings where the congregation of the Church of England on Norfolk Island worship - St. Barnabas Chapel and All Saints Kingston. Both these churches have been used in Christian worship since 1874. The island's main industry is tourism providing a mixture of physical beauty and historical interest. Norfolk is more than its physical beauty or it's history. Norfolk Island is the home for about 1800 people, many of whom can trace their ancestry back to Pitcairn island and the famous mutiny on the Bounty.

Rod is a trained Church Army evangelist with a background of youth work and carpentry. Rod and Christene have come to Norfolk Island from another BCA posting at Coober Pedy in September 2006.
