May 2007

NEW APPOINTMENTS

Chris Baxter has been appointed to the position of Regional Officer NSW/ACT and will commence with BCA on August 1st. After appointments in the Newcastle Diocese and as Senior Chaplain for the Home of Peace Hospital Group, Chris spent 13 years as Rector, Oatley West and most recently as Rector of the Parish of East Willoughby. With Chris’ heart for mission, we thank God as we are encouraged by the experience and skills Chris brings to his new role.

Michael & Alison Stuart with William and Elliott are heading back east for 4 years. Michael will take up a new position of Development Officer in the NSW and National offices in April. Michael and Alison hail from the west, received the call to ministry while in Leinster with Les and Jenny Gaulton, spent four years at Moore College and for the last 5 years have been ministering in Carnarvon in the Diocese of North West Australia.
 

 

NEWMAN MISSION


For the first time, Newman Anglican Church, in North West Australia welcomed a team of 14 Moore College students for a one-week mission in the mining town.  click here to read more

NEW MINISTRY CENTRE FOR  INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF FAR WEST NSW


A New Ministry centre for Indigenous people of Far West NSW
.  Neville Naden has moved to Broken Hill to help set up this ministry centre. This centre would see the establishment of an Indigenous Church for Broken Hill that would eventually provide ministry to the outlying areas such as Wilcannia, Menindee, Ivanhoe, and Tibooburra. ANNUAL TRINITY COLLEGE PRIZE WINNER

Each year the WA Regional Committee awards a prize to the graduating student from Trinity Theological College in Perth for the best project on a mission-related subject. The recipient is selected by the College, and the prize presented at the annual graduation ceremony by a Committee member. This year the prize was won by Simon van Bruchem, and the presentation was made by Rev Philip Knife on Monday 26 February at the College graduation ceremony.

NEW PLACEMENTS FOR 2007


Ian & Glenda McGrath once again join the BCA family, having served at Upper Clarence and Roxby Downs, before his current 6 years at Moree. We welcome them to the position of Regional Officer for Northern NSW & Queensland, based in Brisbane.

Arthur & Jane Tanner come to take on the Field Staff position of the remote tracks in the northern east mission district based at Leigh Creek. To Read more.

John & Carol Jenner come to join the BCA family after Parish ministry and a long term chaplaincy to the Tamworth Anglican Schools. John had been challenged by the advertisement for Paraburdoo/Tom Price, placed in the Armidale paper by Bp David Mulready.

Helen Chick is a very welcome addition after the long vacancy on Furneaux Islands. She has taken up the chaplaincy position there. As chaplain, she will be flying on and off the Island regularly and has become known as the “Flying Chick”.

Matthew Bradfield comes as a strong mission minded Christian, volunteering his financial aptitude and being a very welcome addition to the BCA Finance & Property Sub-Committee. Matthew has a family accounting firm and worships at Oatley West, NSW.

Dale & Rachel Barclay join BCA from Robinvale Parish. They are take on the new position in the Parish of Sunraysia South which is part of the Bendigo Diocese.

Chris & Wendy Thiele have taken on the fulltime role in the Parish of West Tamar. They are taking up new ministry opportunities arising after the Beaconsfield mining collapse. To Read more
