Rev Gary and Mrs Nikki Alexander
Gary is the Rector at St James Kununurra. While Kununurra is base-camp for Gary and Nikki Alexander’s ministry, Gary also holds regular services at Wyndham and monthly services at Oombulgurri (which they fly to). “Kununurra is an exciting hub for ministry,” says Gary. “We seek to reach out into our community as a unified body of Christ, often sharing in outreach with the other churches in town.” He also says they’ve been greatly blessed by a number of BCA Co-Workers in the area.

Kununurra
Kununurra is a mining and agricultural town in North West Australia. In land size the Kununurra Parish is larger than Victoria. Official figures are hard to pin down as mining makes for a fluid population but according to the 2006 Census, 3748 people lived in the urban centre of Kununurra, 25 percent of whom were children. The Census also suggested a quarter of Kununurra’s residents were Indigenous. Many of the Christian programs in the area have an Indigenous focus.
