North QLD Assistant Bishop
Rt Rev Jim and Mrs Lala Leftwich
As the Assistant Bishop of North Queensland, a lot of travel is required in Bishop Jim’s work. Both he and Lala appreciate the prayers and support of BCA. Jim’s position as the National Aboriginal Bishop means he has many opportunities to meet people from all walks of life and to encourage them to continue following Jesus. Jim is also the Chairman for the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Ecumenical Commission and the Director of the Aboriginal/Islander Anglican ministry in Cairns. When undertaking the ministry Jim and Lala sold their home in Holloways Beach and purchased a new home in the foothills of the mountains near Cairns.
