Eaglehawke Parish - MTA

Eaglehawk is a very low socio-economic area with a large population of single parent families and people with high needs. The Wolsley family moved to the Parish of Eaglehawk in July 2002 for a two year Ministry in Training Position. The Parish of Eaglehawk belongs to the Diocese of Bendigo and has now developed into a cluster parish with the Parish of Inglewood and with the help of BCA the Wolsley's time in Eaglehawk concluded at the end of 2005. Inglewood comprises 6 centres, Inglewood itself, Bridgewater, Newbridge, Serpentine, Kngower and Rheola. This new development will provide increased training opportunies which will be beneficial to my development. The Rev Canon Stephen May is the Rector of both Parishes and Tracey was the Assistant Priest.

Their time there has been both rewarding and challenging. As a church they seek practically help and reach out to those in our community. The parish vision is that people everywhere will hear the Gospel proclaimed and see the Gospel lived in a way they can understand.

Tracey writes "What a journey it’s been. It’s hard to believe three and a half years have past since first moving to Eaglehawk. It has been a real privilege to have been provided with the opportunity to train in ministry here in Eaglehawk and more recently in the Parish of Inglewood. Both parishes provide a variety of contexts for ministry. From small farming communities to the greater city of Bendigo. At the time of writing this I know 2006 holds a move for us; not sure where to yet but we are trusting God will lead us to the right place."
