BCA House, Broken Hill |
|
BCA House Broken Hill has served the people of remote
Australia for 51 years. It is with much sadness that this phrase of our
ministry has come to an end. We are thankful for our supporters who have
given sacrificially to the hostel over many years. We rejoice too in the
knowledge that we have been able to serve parents and their children
alike, by providing term time hostel care as the children came to the
Hill to attend school.
Unfortunately, over recent years, there has been a marked decline in the number of students seeking accommodation at BCA House. Please continue to pray for those children in remote areas. We give thanks too for the various Houseparents who have cared for the children with love, care and the message of the Gospel. We give thanks for Nick & Anne Tickner who served there most recently. Pray that they will know God’s leading as they stay in Broken Hill. Information technology advancement in this part of Australia and changes in the rural sector have led to the opportunity for a new approach to ministry which decreases the burden of farm gate visiting on patrol as the only means of making contact. The use of regular email, faxed updates, video and web resources and the offer of hospitality at BCA House adds a new dimension for ministry.
