| Things to thank God
for: 1. We give thanks that numbers are increasing in Mount Magnet. A couple of Christians have come out of the woodwork but we also have some non-churched people attending. Allan has observed that in Mount Magnet we are getting our first Charismatic/Pentecostal members for at least 4 years. (All our other centres have a good mix.) Allan had recently been praying about this matter as he discovered that there had been a split in the church early in the '90s. Pray for wisdom for Allan as he leads the Parish which contains people with a variety of Christian backgrounds. 2. Both Allan's parents have recently been in hospital with serious ailments. Both parents are now recovering and are awaiting the results of further tests. 3. Our warden at Meekatharra, Gwylim, has erected our new sign. This means that newcomers to Meekatharra will be given a clear and correct message about service times and dates. Pray for new Christians settling into all our centres that they may find in us good Christian fellowship and support particularly as many are in shock when they first arrive in town. Things to ask God for: Being the start of a new year there are many plans that we'd like you to pray for that we may be open to God's leading and obedient. 1. Please pray that we may see signs of spiritual growth with the congregation in Mount Magnet and for God's leading and wisdom in knowing how best to improve the discipling process. It was great to see one of our newest members take Sunday school in Mellita's absence. 2. Pray for Allan as he batches this month while Mellita and Kathryn are in Cairns. 3. We have programmed many activities for Mount Magnet this year. Pray that they may be successful in building bridges and breaking down barriers within the community. 4. Continue to pray for the Youth Centre as we make decisions this month affecting its future and the future role of the Youth Centre Officer. 5. On Sunday February 27 we will hold our Parish AGM. Members will come as far as 400km return to attend. Pray that this may be a good time of fellowship as a Parish and that a suitable committee may be formed. 6. Pray for God's blessing on our ongoing financial situation. It was great to meet the direct bills last year but costs for items such as vehicle replacement were not met. Financial pressure is one of the greatest of the many pressures that we face in this vast Parish and yet it would be the one that is easiest for God to solve. So please pray that this ongoing burden may be taken away. |
