NEW PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN BCA AND RIDLEY COLLEGE |
THEOLOGICAL STUDY ON LINE A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN BCA AND RIDLEY COLLEGE In order to reach as many students as possible, The Bush Church Aid Society and Ridley College have formed a partnership to develop Distance Education for theological studies out of Ridley College. BCA’s National Director, Brian Roberts, said “The Society realises that in recent years there has been a growing need for such a facility to serve people being engaged in ministry in the local church in rural and remote Australia”. Brian added “being able to learn and study at a distance is so important for rural and regionally based people. The uprooting of family and business and relocation is a huge cost when one starts to enter theological formation; in fact it can be so large that many don’t make the move and we as a church are much the poorer as a result. The re-working of the first 10 units of the Bachelor’s degree so it can be delivered on line, will mean that people can get started from home without pulling out of their local ministries and disrupting family and business enterprise”. Principal of Ridley College, Peter Adam said “We are very happy to have entered into this partnership with BCA to deliver our courses to men and women who previously could not get access to Ridley College due to their geographic isolation” Students in remote and rural parts of Australia will be able to study subjects online at Ridley College from 2007.
