BROOME

As you would be aware from issues of the Prayer Notes the Society has been candidating a couple put forward by Bishop David Mulready to minister in his Diocese in Broome.

They are Tim and Kathy Mildenhall from Perth. Tim was Deaconed on the 23rd November and will be made a priest in January prior to going to Broome to be the Rector.

They are a people of the highest quality, gifted and have considerable expertise – a couple that the Society was looking forward to supporting in Broome and helping make the transition from University Student based church work in Perth to the Broome Anglican Church.

Unfortunately the Diocese and the Society have not been able to reach agreement on the nature of their placement and regretfully I must inform supporters that the Society’s support for Tim and Kathy as BCA Field Staff in Broome is not possible.

It has been a privilege to see the Broome Anglican Church grow and develop. We at BCA have been the beneficiaries of the involvement over the years. We realise that the Parish has moved a lot closer to self-sufficiency and for that and the many other blessings for lives changed that we have heard about, we praise God.

The Society will continue to support the ‘Christ for Campers’ (Seasonal Ministry Support) programme. Please pray for Tim and Kathy and their children as they make preparations to take on the ministry and a different life style setting. We look forward to hearing news of the Parish and its ministry as it moves ahead under the leadership of a new ministry team. Such news will find its way into our prayer notes from time to time as part of the 'Christ for Campers' Broome program.

National Director Monday 21st November 2005 amended 25th Nov.
