Kormilda College - Pastoral Support Worker |
| The name “Kormilda” means “tomorrow” and derives from the Aboriginal language of the Kakadu region in
the Northern Territory. Kormilda College, whose motto is “Towards Tomorrow” is an independent, co-educational,
multicultural, day and residential secondary school, serving the people of northern Australia by providing an affordable,
Christian education. The Society’s Executive has endorsed the appointment of a Pastoral Support Worker to provide health support services to the student body of Kormilda College. This will require the development of health progammes for the day school and the implementation in the boarding school. A clinic will operate for 24 hours on the campus and referrals from that clinic will be made to General Practitioners and specialist treatments for indigenous residential students. Aboriginal health issues will be an important part of this role. Narelle is a Registered Nurse of many disciplines and years’ experience, a Bible School graduate and has worked in rural and remote localities with Indigenous people. She has a dual role formulating strategic Primary Health Care, incorporating Pastoral Care for the Indigenous students. The aim is to improve their health and therefore ability to learn as well as leading them to Christ, and become the Christian leaders of their communities. Contact Details: Phone: (08) 8922 1611
